Purchase Manager
Job description
The Head of Purchasing is ambitious and enterprising and is expected to:
- Be the “face” of purchasing with vision and strategic insight;
- Be responsible for the purchasing policy and be manager/coach of 2 tactical purchasers;
- Ensure the most optimal purchasing; assortment, price, stock;
- Negotiate prices and delivery times with (potential) suppliers;
- Have insight into the control of order confirmations and deliveries;
- Discuss deviations in deliveries with suppliers;
- Settle any penalty clauses and claims for damages;
- Responsible for monitoring supplier performance (including quality control, ISO audits, contract agreements and product) and reporting back to suppliers;
- Ensures coordination with (inter)national sales.
Job requirements
- Has extensive international food purchasing experience, preferably in the market for oriental and Mediterranean foods;
- HBO level (SCM or NEVI is a plus);
- Knowledge of and affinity with Arabic foods is a plus.
- Strong personality with a passion for purchasing, supply chain management and food in particular;
- Language skills required: English and Dutch. Arabic and possibly German and Turkish are a plus;
- Experience with ERP systems. SAP B1 is a plus;
- Experience with Word and Excel;
- Living in Nijmegen, Land van Cuijk, Venray region
